Work in progress

EIF conducts programme assessments as part of our ‘What works’ reviews of evidence related to early intervention in specific issues, age groups or other populations. The following list outlines the subject-matter or scope of current and upcoming reviews, and (where available) the prospective list of programmes that will be assessed as part of each review.

Programmes that are assessed and found to have at least preliminary evidence of achieving positive outcomes for children will be added to the Guidebook, as and when individual programme reports are completed.

Programmes that are assessed and found to have evidence that is ‘not level 2’ (rated NL2) will not be added to the Guidebook. For a list of these programmes, see: Other programmes

Open call for programmes

EIF has previously undertaken programme assessments as part of a series of major thematic reviews (for example, on early years or social and emotional learning). This year we have invited any programme provider who has an intervention with evidence of improving child outcomes to submit their programme for assessment.

Selected programmes will be assessed throughout the remainder of 2018 and, where they meet the thresholds for inclusion, published on the EIF Guidebook during winter 2018/19.

Reassessing original Guidebook programmes

This review includes programmes that were listed in the first edition of the EIF Guidebook, before it was relaunched in March 2017. These programmes will be reassessed by EIF. The review will be conducted in Q2 and Q3 2017.
